CYCLING HAS ALWAYS BEEN PART OF THE CAN. STORY.

Some of my earliest goal cards, the ones I kept in my car and on my nightstand, were about becoming the best cyclist I could be. Become a Category 1 racer. Win Race Across America. I was writing those goals down and dreaming big.

The truth is, I was also wildly insecure about what was possible. I worked with sports psychologists who helped me use cue words, visualization and written goals to push back against those thoughts of CAN’T. Long before CAN. became a brand, I was learning how much power a single word or mindset impacts your focus.

Cycling became one of the places where I learned to believe in myself. As often as possible, I still climb onto my bike carrying thoughts of CAN’T and usually get off with a mind full of CAN. My freinds, the miles and the endorphins are medicine. They help clear away doubt and create room for some of my most inspired thoughts.

I raced as a Category 1 cyclist out of Las Vegas and was a Director of the Allegiant Air Cycling Team alongside a group of great friends and teammates. We trained hard, raced across the country and discovered what people can accomplish when they are willing to suffer together, support one another and keep going.

My longtime teammate Jerry MacDonald and I were part of a team of four that set a record for the fastest Race Across the West. Another team of Allegiant riders recorded the second fastest time by a team of four in the history of Race Across America. I share those accomplishments not to brag, but to explain how important cycling has been in shaping who I am and how I learned to overcome doubt.

This kit also carries a salute to our former teammate Pete Makowski. Together with teammates Jerry MacDonald and Tony Gebbia, we founded Three Feet for Pete to raise awareness of laws requiring motorists to give cyclists room on the road and to encourage riders to choose roads and routes where everyone has the space to travel safely.

The Spirit of CAN. cycling kit brings these parts of my life together. The power of movement, the strength of a team, the memory of a friend and the belief that we can push beyond the thoughts telling us we can’t.

This is also the beginning of something new for Spirit of CAN. We plan to create more gear for cycling, endurance running and the pursuits that challenge us physically, clear our minds and remind us what we are capable of.

THE FIRST SPIRIT OF CAN. CYCLING COLLECTION

Kit design notes:

A REMINDER WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST

On the rider’s right sleeve, “I Believe” is intentionally inverted. When your head is down and you are searching for the inspiration to stay focused and keep moving, the words are there for you to read.

DEFEAT CAN’T ARM WARMERS

Designed so the message faces the rider, DEFEAT CAN’T is a reminder to push out negative thoughts, focus on pedaling the perfect circle and be grateful you are on the bike again.

INSPIRED BY KAUAʻI

The mountains in the design are inspired by Kōkeʻe, Kauaʻi, home to some of the most beautiful and challenging riding in Hawaiʻi.

THREE FEET FOR PETE

The back of the jersey recognizes Three Feet for Pete, a nonprofit founded in memory of our teammate Pete Makowski to support cycling safety and encourage motorists to give riders the room they need on the road.

Our first cycling collection is now available exclusively through DNA Cycling.

The store is open for preorder through September 25, 2026. Once the preorder period closes, each piece will be handcrafted and shipped directly to you.

Please allow approximately 8 to 10 weeks after September 25 for production and delivery.
